Prayer: Act of Consecration of the Modern World to Our Lady:
Pope John Paul II made on Thursday, 13 May 1982 after the concelebrated Mass in Fatima

Oh, Immaculate Heart! Help us to conquer the menace of evil, which so easily takes root in the hearts of the people of today, and whose immeasurable effects already weigh down upon our modern world and seem to block the paths towards the future!

From famine and war, deliver us.

From nuclear war, from incalculable self-destruction, from every kind of war, deliver us.

From sins against the life of man from its very beginning, deliver us.

From hatred and from the demeaning of the dignity of the children of God, deliver us.

From every kind of injustice in the life of society, both national and international, deliver us.

From readiness to trample on the commandments of God, deliver us.

From attempts to stifle in human hearts the very truth of God, deliver us.

From sins against the Holy Spirit, deliver us.

O Mother of Christ, this cry laden with the sufferings of all individual human beings, laden with the sufferings of whole societies.

Let there be revealed, once more. in the history of the world your infinite power of merciful Love. May it put a stop to evil. May it transform consciences. May your Immaculate Heart reveal for all the light of Hope.

AMEN

Prayer: "Sometimes in the spiritual life, we come to a halt because we insist on understanding and searching into God's plans for our soul. A faithful soul, on the other hand, does not linger to inquire about God's actions; even though not fully understanding them, it believes, following blindly, if necessary, the manifestation of His Will. This is pleasing to God who does not ask us to understand, but only to believe with all our strength." -Father Gabriel, OCD

Prayer: TRADITIONAL PRAYER IN NECESSITY
[Can be used to make intercession for the Church]

We salute thee, Saint Anthony, lily of purity and glory of Christianity. We rejoice at the favors the Lord hast so generously bestowed on thee. In humility and confidence we entreat thee to help us [or Thy Church], for we know that God hast given thee charity and pity, as well as power.

Behold our distress, our anxiety, our fears concerning our salvation. We ask thee by the love thou didst feel toward the amiable little Jesus to tell Him now of our wants. One word from thee will touch His heart and fill us with joy.

Remember how complete thy bliss was as thou didst hold Him close to thee, pressed thy cheek to His and listened to His angelic voice. Think of this, and hear us for His wondrous show of love. If we could behold thee we would bathe thy feet with respectful tears and tell thee all we feel, all we fear for our salvation.

But to see thee is not granted us. Therefore, we salute thee in spirit, O glorious favorite of God, and bow down our guilty heads before thee in humble reverence while we raise our hearts full of hope toward Heaven and thee. For He Who so often put Himself in thy arms will now fill thy hands with all we ask of thee.

Give us, then, what we desire, angel of wisdom and Divine love, and we will speak of thy grandeur, thereby to honor and glorify Him Who so blessed thee. Amen.

PETITIONS

ST. Anthony, our Patron and our Advocate, grant us what we ask of thee.

{Name it.]

St. Anthony, powerful in word and work, grant us what we ask of thee.

St. Anthony, attentive to those who invoke thee, grant us what we ask of thee.

St. Anthony, glory of the Church and honor of the Franciscan Order, grant us what we ask of thee.

St. Anthony, whom the Infant Jesus so much loved and honored, grant us what we ask of thee

Name: PURE OF HEART
Prayer: PURE OF HEART

" O Lord, give me right sentiments about You and grant that I may see You with simplicity of heart. My heart says to You, "I will seek Your face". When my heart seeks You, O Lord, it is Your presence it is seeking. Your home is where You dwell, and where do You dwell, if not in Your temple? My heart is Your temple: teach me how to welcome You there. You are spirit, and I must adore You in spirit and truth. Come into my heart, and all the idols shall fall.

"Now I shall listen to Your voice and learn to long for You and to prepare myself to see You. Blessed are all who see You! And if they do see You, it is not because, while there were on earth, they were poor in spirit, or because they were meek and merciful, or because they mourned or hungered or thirsted after justice, but because thy were clean of heart. Humility is good for attaining the kingdom of heaven; meekness is good for possessing the land; tears are good for receiving consolation; hunger and thirst after justice, for being filled; mercy is good for obtaining mercy, but only purity of heart permits us to see You.

My desire is to see You; What I desire is great, but it is You who tell me to wish for it. Help me to purify my heart, because what I desire to see is pure but my means of seeing impure. Come to me, O God, and purify me by Your grace; purify my heart with Your aid and strength. If I receive You into my heart during this present life, after my death You will admit me into Your presence." St. Augustine

"Come, Holy Spirit, speak to my heart; or at least if You wish to remain silent, may Your very silence speak to me, because without You I am always in danger of following my own errors and confusing them with Your teachings." St. Bernard of Clairvaux

Name: TRUST
Prayer: Trust in God’s Mercy! Blessed Francis Seelos

It is not your justice but God’s mercy which is the motive of your trust. He is the God of all consolations and the Father of mercies. He does not wish the death of sinners but that they be converted and live. He came to heal the sick and to seek those who were lost. He spared the woman taken in adultery. He showed mercy to the thief crucified with him. He took upon himself our punishment. He prayed for his murderers. He now intercedes for us at the right hand of God. None of the damned was ever lost because his sin was too great, but because his trust was too small!

Oh, if only all the sinners of the whole wide world were present here! Yes, even the greatest, the most hardened, even those close to despair, I would call out to them: The Lord is kind and merciful, patient and full of love. I would show them why the Apostles call God the Father of Mercy, the God of all consolation. I would tell them that the prophet in the Old Testament even said that the earth is full of the mercy of God and that mercy is above all His works.

Oh, Mother of Mercy! You understood the Mercy of God when you cried out in the Magnificat — ‘His mercy is from generation to generation.’ Obtain for all sinners a childlike confidence in the Mercy of God!

Prayer: Being a fool for Christ....Blessed Francis Seelos

Fools for Christ!

This life is full of obstacles, difficulties for one whose purpose is the close following of Christ. O how few start on this road of the following of Christ! And for this reason it may sometimes appear that the true Christian life is something excessive. Our poor human nature may even call it at times a stupidity to despise a pleasure for God. It is as if somebody said to us: ‘How stupid you are to deny yourselves all innocent pleasures which others enjoy without scruple of conscience. Do you only want to go to Heaven? O what a dry, uninteresting form of existence!’ To such whisperings of the devil, you must never pay attention.

Name: In What Perfection Consists
Prayer: ABANDONMENT TO DIVINE PROVIDENCE Fr. Jean-Pierre de Chaussade, SJ

Chapter 1: Section 4

Section 4 - In what Perfection Consists

Perfection consists in doing the will of God, not in understanding His designs.

The designs of God, the good pleasure of God, the will of God, the operation of God and the gift of His grace are all one and the same thing in the spiritual life. It is God working in the soul to make it like unto Himself. Perfection is neither more nor less than the faithful co-operation of the soul with this work of God, and is begun, grows, and is consummated in the soul unperceived and in secret.

The science of theology is full of theories and explanations of the wonders of this state in each soul according to its capacity. One may be conversant with all these speculations, speak and write about them admirably, instruct others and guide souls; yet, if these theories are only in the mind, one is, compared with those who, without any knowledge of these theories, receive the meaning of the designs of God and do His holy will, like a sick physician compared to simple people in perfect health.

The designs of God and his divine will accepted by a faithful soul with simplicity produces this divine state in it without its knowledge, just as a medicine taken obediently will produce health, although the sick person neither knows nor wishes to know anything about medicine. As fire gives out heat, and not philosophical discussions about it, nor knowledge of its effects; so the designs of God and His holy will work in the soul for its sanctification, and not speculations of curiosity as to this principle and this state.

When one is thirsty one quenches one's thirst by drinking, not by reading books which treat of this condition. The desire to know does but increase this thirst. Therefore when one thirsts after sanctity, the desire to know about it only drives it further away. Speculation must be laid aside, and everything arranged by God as regards actions and sufferings must be accepted with simplicity, for those things that happen at each moment by the divine command or permission are always the most holy, the best and the most divine for us.

Prayer: Novena Honoring the Body and Blood of Christ

I thank You, Jesus, my Divine Redeemer, for coming upon the earth for our sake, and for instituting the adorable Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist in order to remain with us until the end of the world. I thank You for hiding beneath the Eucharistic species Your infinite majesty and beauty, which Your Angels delight to behold, so that I might have courage to approach the throne of Your Mercy. I thank You, most loving Jesus, for having made Your- self my food, and for uniting me to Yourself with so much love in this wonderful Sacrament that I may live in You. I thank You, my Jesus, for giving Yourself to me in this Blessed Sacrament, and so enriching it with the treasures of Your love that You have no greater gift to give me. I thank You not only for becoming my food but also for offering Yourself as a continual sacrifice to Your Eternal Father for my salvation. I thank You, Divine Priest, for offering Yourself as a Sacrifice daily upon our altars in adoration and homage to the Most Blessed Trinity, and for making amends for our poor and miserable adorations. I thank You for renewing in this daily Sacrifice the actual Sacrifice of the Cross offered on Calvary, in which You satisfy Divine justice for us poor sinners. I thank You, dear Jesus, for having become the priceless Victim to merit for me the fullness of heavenly favors. Awaken in me such confidence in You that their fullness may descend ever more fruitfully upon my soul. I thank You for offering Yourself in thanksgiving to God for all His benefits, spiritual and temporal, which He has bestowed upon me. In union with Your offering of Yourself to Your

Father in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, I ask for this special favor: (Mention your request). If it be Your holy Will, grant my request. Through You I also hope to receive the grace of perseverance in Your love and faithful service, a holy death, and a happy eternity with You in Heaven. Amen.

O Lord, You have given us this Sacred Banquet, in which Christ is received, the memory of His Passion is renewed, the mind is filled with grace, and a pledge of future glory is given to us. You have given them bread from Heaven. Having all sweetness within. Let us pray. God our Father, for Your glory and our salvation You appointed Jesus Christ eternal High Priest. May the people He gained for You by His Blood come to share in the power of His Cross and Resurrection by celebrating His Memorial in this Eucharist, for He lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever. Amen.

O Jesus, since You have left us a remembrance of Your Passion beneath the veils of this Sacrament, grant us, we pray, so to venerate the sacred mysteries of Your Body and Blood that we may always enjoy the fruits of Your Redemption, for You live and reign forever. Amen.

Prayer: Prayer to "Heal Our Land"

Heavenly Father, the world seems to be collapsing around us. While families struggle to keep their homes and feed their children, floods and tornados ravage our land; abortion is accepted and same-sex marriage is legal. Government and business leaders have chosen to walk in the ways of darkness; wars and fighting are tearing countries apart. Crime and violence dominate many towns and cities. Fear and trepidation grip our hearts; we don't know where to turn. We have fallen from your grace; we have drifted so far from your protection. Many don't even know your name. What must we do to find favor with you, O Lord, what must we do? O Lord, we are weak and afraid. But you O Lord, are our strength, you will defend us in battle; Your son, Jesus died for our sins and transgressions; "by his stripes we are healed." We place our trust in you and you alone, we cast out fear, we bind the enemy in your precious Name. We seek your face and we turn away from our sins, we are not afraid. For you have said "if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chron 7:14 We claim your solemn promise, Lord. May your Holy Spirit help us to fulfill the conditions that you require for its fulfillment, in Jesus' precious name. Amen.

Prayer: St. Mary Magdalen dei Pazzi

"O Lord, the peace You give us in this world is full of anxieties, tribulations, and persecutions; but then in the midst of these difficulties You give us Your peace, because the Spirit attests in this way that we are Your children. This means, 'Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.' Not only will You comfort us in the future, but You turn our very tears into consolation, and war itself into peace. He who loves You, O Lord, finds in the most burning fire of tribulation the cool breeze and the dew of heavenly consolation."
